Our Main Duties for Fire and Emergency Response:

Fire and Emergency is an essential aspect of forestry and silviculture.

Reducing the prevalence of unwanted fires and the correlated risk to life and land.

Protecting life, preventing injury, damage to property, land and the environment.
-
Encouraging fire safety (including giving advice on the safe use of fire as a land management tool) and firefighting.
-
Providing fire prevention, response and suppression.
-
Ensuring that the forests are kept safe from fire damage.
All of our permanent team members are trained in fire fighting and suppression, and we conduct regular fire training to uphold the New Zealand Fire and Emergency standards. We provide all the firefighting gear and also partake in competitions run by Fire and Emergency.
